TRUEB: CardMax2 - Workflow Management Software for Secure Card Personalisation

CardMax2 is a software that manages the production workflow in personalisation bureaus that operate in a high security environment. It is designed for personalisation bureaus with a strong commitment to client satisfaction and is based on efficient and straightforward solution approaches. It assumes a sequential workflow where the pure card personalisation is followed by the optional card enveloping and mailing. CardMax2 works together with existing multiple machine parks and customer interfaces.

CardMax2 comes in two versions representing two basic workflows that typically run in a separate environment and on its own server.

CardMax2 – Banking, Access, Loyalty serves the sector that is characterised by many different card types, standardised encoding technologies (i.e. M/Chip, VSDC, Mifare™, etc.) and frequent product changes that are often with very short notice periods (marketing campaigns for card issuance). CardMax2 supports the personalisation bureau to work efficiently in compliance with MasterCard and Visa (EMV) security regulations.

CardMax2 – Public Sector handles products such as identity cards, eID, residence permits, driving licenses and also corporate PKI cards: Complex data and card logistics (i.e. multiple CA’s, track & trace on single card level), complementary PIN issuance, technology with customised applications (i.e. governmental PKI schemes). 100% control is given to the personalisation bureau to account for the highest demands for privacy and data protection, card specific keys and certificates by checking every card for the applied personalisation and the physical and logical integrity.

Estonian Certification Centre: Sign electronic documents

The purpose of that project is to simplify communication between the citizens of Estonia and government offices by means of signed electronic documents.

The developed software is made as freeware and can be used by private companies as well for their internal communication and/or communication with customers.

1) DigiDoc libraries (C, Java) designed for  handling of digital signatures covering all necessary functions  like encryption, creation and verification of  digitally signed files. DigiDoc C library produces digitally signed files in “DigiDoc format” (DDOC, BDOC) compliant  to XML-DSIG and XadES standards. Used in multipe online-banking and e-commerce solutions.

2) DigiDocService is a SOAP web-service for signing files digitally. We participated in architecture and implementation phases of the development.

3) DigiDocLibCOM is a Microsoft COM module for signing digitally and encrypting files in Microsoft Windows environment. Module has a feature to use Mobile phone as a authentification and digital signing tool.

4) GDigiDoc freeware graphical user interface for encrypting, verificating and creating digitally signed files in Windows and Linux environments. Sourcecode available: www.sourceforge.net/projects/gdigidoc

5) eFormular handles only XML documents, but it is capable of signing, displaying and editing any XML document. If the issuer of the document has created an electronic form description for the document type, then eFormular displays the document not as an XML tree, but as described in the form description. It doesn't work only as off-line application. If an Internet connection exists then there is a possibility to send XML forms/documents and attachments (Word, Excel, pdf, zip etc.) directly to needed institutions.

6) Mobile-ID is a technology for mobile devices which you can use for electronic identification and creating digitally signed files. According to Estonian Laws digital signature created for example with Mobiil-ID is equal to handwritten signature!
